Big Red Noses!

Some traditional sketches! Felt like I have been  doing allot of digital stuff lately so figured I would bring out the pencil, mind you still with some slight digital alterations haha. Also I just found out today that my graduate film Sheared will play at the Ascona Film and Video Art Festival in Switzerland! along side Sun Day and Pistol Shrimp which are some other awesome Sheridan films:)

Hipster

This was based on a sketch I did in my sketchbook, just decided to paint it up. In other news im starting a 10 week mentorship with Leighton Hickman under the Motivarti mentorship program. It should be alot of fun and an awesome experience :) I'm sure it will keep me quite busy with work and all.

Warm Ups!

Works been pretty busy these days....here are some warm up sketches and character doodles. The Celtic character was inspired by Brave, that movie looks better and better the more I watch the trailer. The monster character is my take on a minion after watching Despicable Me again. Love that movie!

Digital Animals!

I realized I don't do enough animal designs. Figured I should start doing some. These were pretty experimental. Still trying to get better at color these days as well. I went for a more painterly look as opposed to my usual approach. Its allot less time consuming I found and pretty fun to do! Oh and finally got around to a new blog header, the other one was getting pretty old.

Tintin!

I saw Tintin a couple weeks back an absolutely loved it! I definitely recommend it! For these pieces I went for a very traditional look. I thought it would be neat to see captain Haddock in a picture frame. Something I would love to do is to get digital prints on canvas....could make a cool gift, maybe sometime in the near future.

Back to the Basics!

Just practicing with simple shapes and color. I'm trying to improve on color these days so I just decided to color these characters with flat colors and see what works. And yes the first character was inspired by penguin from batman. I loved Batman Returns such a good movie!

Your Late!

 

Its been a late week. I dont know what it is about this week but its awfully hard getting up. Solution- drink large quantities of coffee. Luckily my boss doesnt look like this every morning either haha.

My first post of 2012, and yes somewhat of a fan art, I generally never do it, but I must say its pretty fun. I did this Batman doodle at work after seeing the trailer. Its shaping up to be yet another good one! I can feel this year is going to be awesome already!
